No one has given you the proper answer so far. You cannot just format U3 away because it's stored such away where that won't work.

It is possible to stop it from installing on new computers and not make it necessary for your computer to load it.

Unfortunately you have to load it first. Then launch U3 and dig through the preferences and you can select it so it no longer needs to load and you won't need a password to use it.

Finally, you CAN uninstall it completely with software from the mfg.

I personally like the U3 software because it encrypts your data and it has features allowing you to run software.

I'm not going to explain this, because I'm tired and I don't really feel like it but the short of it is, U3 is a feature of the flash drive, it's designed to make it easier to use and you can load U3 programs (programs designed to run from flash drives) like the U3 version of Firefox, OpenOffice, et al, to your flash drive and have all your programs when you move to a different computer.

It's encoded to the drive, you can't remove it. Oh, and yeah, why would it even make it lag in the first place. Really... that doesn't make any sense... neither does... oh well, that's as far as I'm going.

Right click on the jump drive in my computer and format it. That should get rid of everything.

i assume you are deleting the icon by selecting the icon and pressing the delete key ... or by right-click --- delete.......

if the program is still coming up....maybe you should try deleting it from the control panel.....

start---control panel---add or remove programs
