It's always the diets fault or the slow metabolism or genetics. It's never their own fault, why?

Gaaaaaaaaaah. Universals again. Universal quantifiers like "always" or "never" are bound to get you into hot water, dude. Lol. It isn't "always" the diet's fault or slow metabolism or genetics. Honestly? Some people weigh things on a cost-benefit scale and just find they prefer to be fat (like smoking) despite knowing the health risks or the social stigma. Some people LITERALY just don't care (imagine that!). Others are their own worst critics and end up with eating disorders or neuroses. Other people feel the need to put out excuses because there IS a giant (no pun intended) stigma against obesity for a variety of societal reasons. and those people feel that they must somehow justify or explain their defficiencies in the eyes of others so that way they can gain social acceptance. In short, there are a variety of plausible reasons regarding the causes of obesity and how people deal with it. In some cases, people DO partake in fad diets that don't work (in which case it is the fault of the person for being guillible and not researching weight loss properly) or they DO have genetic predisposition towards obesity (with an accompanying slow metabolism). So lighten up, mang. Why does this concern you so much anyway?

unfortunately, people are in denial.. They project blame to lose responsibility, as if they are victims.. shedding responsibility is common in most people though, so its not that bigger people are different than anyone else. It's hardly genetics though, more like social conditioning I think.. If you eat light foods, and walk about 1-2 miles a day, thats pretty decent. This isn't genetics that determines whether you do this or not though... It is up to the individual...

Why do you have to be so prejudiced? Some people are naturally thin & some are naturally obese. Some have a harder time loosing weight than others. Sometimes certian medications can make a person gain a lot of weight, but b/c of a chronic illness they have to choose to be overweight and continue their medication. Some people have underactive thyroids and that cause obesity. Sometimes it gluttony. Who knows what it is for sure. But why do some of you have to be so nasty about obese people? One day you may be obese or overweight and then you'll know what it feels like.

Primarily it is not thier fault. Often it is an underlying problem that causes them to eat. Many times people eat because they are depressed. Food is the only thing that makes them feel better. The endorphine rush of chocolate is a good example of this. But what they dont see when they are eating it..... is that it is a temporary fix. In the end it only will hurt them.

There but for the grace of God go I. I have never felt what it is like to be obese and I am grateful for that fact. I consider it a thing that I am grateful for and I am happy that I have neverhad to diet except once in my life. Try not to be so harsh

there is not any way that seventy 5% of folk who're obese are on welfare. many people have wellbeing issues which make it puzzling to drop some weight. I also have a chum who became into skinny and then she greater polycystic ovarian disease. and she or he won a ton of weight. Her behavior did no longer replace.

I think most people that have problems, not just the obese, will blame it on everything but themselves. Look at drunks, addicts, it's never their fault, it's because their childhood sucked, or, someone looked at them wrong. No one takes responsibility for their weaknesses. ~~~~~~~~~

The ones who understand that it is their own fault generally don't stay obese for very long, so the only ones you ever see are the ones who don't understand that they can use their own actions to solve the problem.

People are never wrong. Everyone else is. It's just human physics I guess. Blame not yourself what you can blame on others. All part of the deterioration of our species.

People who are obese tend to have low self-esteem. If they start to tell themselves that they are the cause of their obesity, that can low their self-esteem greatly. This may lead to possible depression or suicide.
