When did you purchase your computer? When did you last update the virus definitions? Is your computer more then one year old? If so, your anti virus program is out of date and needs to be updated. When an anti virus company release a new scan engine (a new program version), you need to upgrade to that to keep clean. Viruses can easily defeat older scan engines, even if you keep the definitions up to date. If this were not true, there would be no need for them to release new versions all the time. If you do not want to purchase a new program, then download avast antivirus (and keep it up to date!) You may also not want to run peer to peer software too, as that is where most miruses come from (especially Limewire). Use utorrent, azureus or bittorent if you must.

hmm, does the massage looks like a message from your anti virus program or does it look different. There is this spyware that pops up every now and then saying that your system has a virus or needs repair or something of that sort. The idea is so that you click on it and it takes you to a website where they try to sell you something. Plus probably install more spyware.
If is a legitimate message then you need to update your antivirus and then run a system scan. The program should take care of it. If it still there then try a different anti virus program. I use avg free edition. Its free and it works fine with me. There are others to chooce from is really up to user preference. You may also need an anti spyware program. Again there are many outthere like windows defender and spybot search and destroy.
good luck

Dont listen to the Idiot that says linux and mac dont get viruses. This is not true. they do get viruses. the difference is that since 95 percent of the population uses windows. there arnt many people making viruses that attack mac or linux. their os's are just as subseptible to virus attacks as any other os. people just dont take their time to write them because hardly anyone would get infected.
why rob the homeless guy on the corner when there is a rich guy standing on the other side of the road.
install these apps, update them every time you use them. only use one virus program. 2 virus programs do not work together. use all the spyware programs
virus -
avg free, or what you paid for with ur machine
spyware -
spybot search and destory
ad-aware

The problem is that you are using Microsoft Windows. Mac OS X and Linux systems don't get virus infections. Purchase a quality anti-virus product from McAfee or Sophos.

It’s good that your computer is saying that you have a Virus…. It means it’s detecting it and what’s the last time that you updated your Anti-Virus or it’s just on Auto update?

Anti-virus software has to be updated, plus it's not 100% effective. I use Grisoft AVG, its free and it works better than anything I have ever bought.

hi
well actually this is a malicious software that tells you to click on a info balloon at the bottom right corner of the screen and then takes to malicious sites and this type of spyware is not detected by antiviruses so download spybot-search and destroy itz free and very effective.scan your computer with that and everything will be fine
