No, I don't think its a waste of money. Consider how much money is pumped into the economy with the game.
Though I do agree that we do pay some athletes(certainly not only football players) way too much money. Biggest case is that soccer guy (David something) that's playing for L.A. That was totally ridiculous for someone to play a sport that few care for here to be getting that much.

And yet it's cheaper for me to go to football games where my entrance fee is helping pay millionaires and billionaires than to have health insurance and see my doctor.

The athletes bring in money and are paid a percentage of it. If my doctor did his job like these athletes do, I wouldn't mind that, but since my doctor can't figure out what is wrong with me and why I can't get better, I don't care if his high 5-figure or low 6-figure salary is lower than a professional athlete.

I think it is full of overkill, even to the point of the game being secondary to the event.

I didn't pay attention to them back then, but I miss the days when there was a college band that played at halftime.

The money could be better spent on helping our domestic issues. I get a sense of elitism, arrogance, and shameless self-promotion.

Yes, sport and celebrity worship is getting out of hand, we should spend that money on education, like teaching people how to SPELL, I do get your point though and agree, this countries priorities are very much heading in the wrong direction. Gangster Thug rappers, actors and sports stars get ungodly amounts of money and the real hero's like teachers, police and firemen don't get paid half of what they should be.

I agree. That money could go to teaching kids like you how to spell. It's "waste" not "waist". Just so you know the difference, waste is most commonly used to refer to consumption without adequate return, where as waist, refers to the area of your body in between your ribs and hips, usually the narrowest part of your body.

Hell no! I'd pay $3,000 for a ticket there.

You see lady, you may not love the superbowl. But people like me are huuuge fans, and to me that isn't ridiculos.

Plus, if my fav team the New England Patriots EVER played again for the superbowl, I'm buying the tickets no matter what!
