Don't know where you found any reference to "Asian geisha" Geisha is a Japanese word and the only authentic geisha are Japanese. There may be courtesans in other Asian countries, but they are not authentic geisha.

There are only Japanese Geisha...it does not exist in any other culture. And Geishas are not prostitutes...they are intellectuals and artists. A Geisha wears the bow of her Kimono on her back and a prostitute wears it on the front.
