You will find the way. Be truthful, and kind. Explain to her your situation at the time. Make sure she knows how much she was missed, and that you thought of her every day. Love will shine through, in your words and actions. We can't change the past, but we sure can make up for it.

Do you have a favorite radio channel that you guys always used to listen to and still do? You know when some radio channels let you call them and you can talk on the radio? Well, maybe you can go on a radio channel and tell your daughter how much you care about her.
Or you can call her - if you don't have her number then you ca look in the phone book or ask any friends - and talk to her, tell her how you feel, bring her out to dinner or anyplace fun, etc.

call her and tell her "no matter what happened between us or what was said between us, i love you more than anything and if ever you need me, i'll be there for you -- any time, anywhere"
don't ask her to call you or say you'd wish she'd call or that you'd like to hear from her. don't ask for forgiveness or offer it. it'll be hard for her to hear the love if you ask for anything little thing in return. then just wait.
maybe a month later, if you haven't heard from her, you can leave a message just saying you were thinking of her and you hope all is going well. i think it's ok to leave a message once a month to make sure she knows you'll always make the effort. just don't ask for anything. she will call eventually. unless you did terrible things or allowed terrible things to happen to her (drug abuse, physical abuse, let a boyfriend abuse her), she will call.
be strong, be patient, and keep your chin up.

try to console her. ask her what's the problem, and how can you solve it. mom should always ask their daughter what they like, and ifg it is good for her then you should support her. It's really important that you communicate with your daughter, talk to her, do not just trat her as a daughter, but treat her as a friend, go out together, hang out. You know, they can speak their mind easily to their friends rather tahn to their parents, because they know their friends will understand them easily. Some parents are very strict, which should not be, it is easier for them to speak their mind to you if you just let her be not just your mom but also your bestfriend! that's what I've got to say. because they are sensitive when it comes to their lives being controlled. Mother and child especially daughters should get along together because mom knows how was it to be a daughter before and espacially being a grown up before. You should understand and advice her, not control.
