Brett is about 38 years old. That is not ancient as you might think. He is far from the oldest to play quarterback. In fact there have been older quarterbacks who played in the Superbowl. Jerry Rice played into his 40's. George Blanda played until age 48. There have been about 40 players over the age of 40 who have played NFL football. Brett Favre has escaped serious injury (likely one of his talents) that leave him with pretty good legs, arms, hands, and head. With all those things intact, it does not make sense for him to retire until he no longer has the ability to play. If you watched the playoffs, you would have to admit that several teams might have gone farther had they had Favre on their team. The media has made much about him retiring and it does get sickening after a while, but we won't see the likes of him again. Why not watch until then.

It seems that way..but he's actually 37. You think about it..sports are really hard to give up. Even people that left sports behind after high school and are in there 30s sometimes wish they could go back. The difference between these people and Favre, they haven't been doing it for 30-some years.

Anyways, I think he'll retire when he realizes the Packers are a good 3-5 years away from having a solid team. Their defense is coming up, though, so he again thinks they have a shot.

I doubt he will retire. He loves the interest and media spotlight too a lot. seem at his teary eyed retirement statement from the Packers and then the drama he created even as he presented he develop into going to go back out of retirement the wednesday in the previous the Forth of July in 2008. Then his retirement from the Jets. he will kick it round and we are going to all ought to go throughout the time period "Favre Watch" once extra. As a Packer fan, i have been a large Favre fan for years. even even as he went to the Jets. Now that he's with Minnesota, i trust he's disrespecting the Packer followers that supported him all those years. I do trust this can be his very last season if he performs. i do not imagine he receives out of it without an damage that ends his skill to play. As for going to a unique crew, on condition that Minnesota cuts or trades him.

Brett Favre is too stubborn and prideful to hang it up, i think it's going to take either him getting cut, or suffering an injury to get him off the field. The problem with cutting favre is tat he has a lifetime contract (although it is actually for 10 years salarywise) which he signed in 2001, with a 10-15 million dollar signing bonus. this would equal a 4-7 million dollar salary cap hit, and teams hate taking such sizable hits, especially with the PR backlash of cutting a green bay legend on par with lombardi as the face of the franchise.

Why retire when you can still perform at a high level? Also he is a man who loves the game. Did you see that game against the Bears that ended the season? He is playing at least one more year. So if you don't like it, SORRY BEARS FANS! lmao, what a great Super Bowl. GROSSman!

This is his last season, he only needs to win 2 more games to break Elways all time winning record. He needs over 3000 yds. to break Marino's all time passing, and he needs at least 20 touchdowns to break, marino's all time touchdown record. I truly believe this coming season is for the record numbers and above all, his passion to play football. Good luck Brett.

Of course, if he makes it through the season....this will be his last season.
