The bass is no harder than any other instrument. Bass playing is a study of rhythm and chord support. Some of the techniques like slap pop, and tapping are difficult at first, but just stick with it and you will be able to play those techniques fairly easy. Mastering the instrument takes a lifetime, and anyone who says they have mastered the bass is a liar. There is a difference between proficiency and mastery. The thicker strings, longer neck, and wider string spacing take some getting used to, but with constant practice that wont be a problem. Bass and guitar are two different instruments, and when played right the bass has a voice of it's own that is both powerfull and moving.

Don't think of it as hard or easy. Can you find the passion for bass? You can physically play the guitar or bass, and none are hard, or if you prefer, they are both easy. But what sets you apart from another player is being able to tap into that special something that gives your playing passion, heart, soul, a vibe, a groove. You'll get it after a bit of playing! Go for it!!!
