verify the orientation of the no longer easy disk cable between the no longer easy disk and the mobo. crimson area needs to bypass to pin-a million of the ribbon cable connector at the two ends. verify the jumper settings - make useful the disk is desperate to be 'grasp'. verify the BIOS sees the disk force by using fact the grasp on the 1st IDE bus... no longer the 2d bus. if so, change it to the different IDE socket on the mobo. If all of those are ok and it nevertheless does not artwork, feels like your on-board disk controller has failed. you will want a sparkling mobo... and thanks to the age it's going to in all risk choose for a sparkling CPU and memory too as you will discover it no longer easy to get a mobo that runs previous RAM and CPU. And teh actuality is that (even inspite of the shown fact which you do no longer choose for to hearken to it) this is extra affordable to offload the backside unit and purchase a sparkling one. unhappy isn't it?
