no, the ps3 sucks. i work at wal-mart in the electronics and i haven't heard a lot of good things. Plus the one we have on display for people to play always freezes up, so every 5 minutes io have to open the case and restart the stupid thing (which takes like 10 minutes to do). I'd wait anyways until they get all the bugs out, because there will always be bugs.

Hell no. The games are too expensive and so is the game counsel. Just wait until it goes down in price. It will always be there. The only problem is that the games won't. If you got a friend that has one go play over there. Always rent games before you buy them. I don't know how many times I couldn't wait to get this game, rented it, played it, and thanked God I didn't buy the piece of junk. But it just depends on what your budget is. I personally wouldn't. I'm pretty satisfied with my ps2. Some day they will come out with a number 4, then by the 3 lol.

the ps3 is a great system and is only going to get better. the price is not going to drop anytime soon. so if you are waiting for the price to go down, you are gonna be waiting years. i say, if you are planning on getting one anyways, you might as well get one now. for being a brand new system i have to say this, they do not overheat nearly as much as the 360. thats a fact. the 360 does have more games though. but if you arent a fan of halo then who cares. the ps2 has a million games and soon the third party companies will be producing beautiful games for the ps3. the ps3 is the best machine you can buy. and i am sick of people saying it is over priced, if you look what you are buying, its actually a bargain. i say, go ahead and have fun. get it

No no no no no. Why? Because just like when the PS2 came out with it's high price tag, the price will drop eventually. Plus if you wait to get a second or third generation PS3 then they would likely have fixed all the program bugs that they haven't fixed in the just released first generation PS3s.

I have a ps3 and it is great espically on my HD tv and the guy who says it freezes is a liar mine has never freezed EVER and i have played in excess of 10 hours at a time. And if you arn't 12 years old DO NOT buy a wii they are for little kids. The wii is stupid expect for the wii sports game that comes with it. however the xbox 360 is also good with plenty of great games only downside is it cost money to play online ps3 is free to play online

I would personally wait to see what games will be released later on.

Also, you should check on the battle between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, if Blu-ray wins, looking towards purchasing a PS3.

If you need a "next-gen" gaming system NOW, purchase a Ninendo Wii, it has an excellent launch line-up and stunning new game play.

NO, the wii is more fun and if u really want a ps3, wait until they come down in price. also, they are having some problems that will probably get fixed in later versions.

i would say no for 2 reasons

1. the price will go down after a while
2. the first new systems out almost always have bugs that need to be worked out, so after some time the companys have a chance to fix them.
