I recommend starting off with some books by Stanislavsky; start off with "An Actor Prepares" and then move your way along. You should also get involved with anything that gives you an oppurtunity to act; in particular drama classes, if they offer them.
When you leave school, you may hope to apply to a college that have three year acting courses, like some of the more prestigious ones like the National Institute of Dramatic Arts or the New York Academy of Arts. Plus, there are lots of courses and workshops out there for aspiring actors.
If you want to jump straight in (I highly recommend that you don't jump straight in before having another steady career on the side), then look for an agent. It is tricky to find one that will accept you though; so, just do what you can. Have your headshots taken (TOP QUALITY AT LEAST!!!) and write up your CV.
However, if you are considering being an actor; you should always have enough credentials to get a steady day job. This means finishing school and hopefully getting a degree in something else. This means that you won't have run out of options if worst comes to worst.
I hope this has been partially helpful.

Try and find some classes at a community center or such. If that proves to be diffiicult, find monolgues and acting advice fromt he internet and books. Learn it through the art and self-expression fo drama. Your appearance means very little as opposed to your desire to perform and express yourself when it comes to the art of acting.
If you just want to become a FAMOUS actor, then sell your soul to the devil, that's how everyone else does it.
