To anyone who thinks "c" is the correct answer to no. 3...

To accelerate an object is to change its velocity, which is accomplished by altering either its speed or direction (as in the case of uniform circular motion) in relation to time. The Earth (and an orbiting satellite) is moving in a uniform circular motion. Therefore, it is altering its direction in relation to time. Therefore, it is indeed accelerating.

The woman, on the other hand, is walking at a constant speed (2.5 m/s) and not changing direction, therefore she is not accelerating.

1.= b
2.= d
3. = probably d. a woman walking a straight line at a constant speed is also right. A satellite circling Earth may, or may not accelerate.

Since I know that mine are correct, I wonder at the thumb down. A woman walking down a straight road at a given speed is much more likely to be accelerating her own motion to maintain speed depending on the incline, which is not given. A satellite in orbit does not move its arms about while it is traveling around the earth at a static speed. The Earth which is a satellite to the Sun, is not accelerating...
