otay.. im no stranger to wierd dreams.. or recurring dreams.. usually the recurring ones are sad, scary dreams. but recently i've been having some nice recurring dreams! In my dream im a senior (im a sophomore currently) and im at a Model UN meeting one day (we have them tuesdays after school) when i get a picture messege to my cell phone.. its a picture of a guy thats in a uniform. in the dream he's my best friend and he' been a Navy Pilot and away for a year and in the pic he's standing right outside the door. I get up and run outside and he's standing there and i hug him and im crying cuz im soo happy.. but i cant, forthe LIFE of me see who it is! i just know he's tall and has blue eyes... which only describes.. oh.. most of the males i know!
what could it mean? could it mean that one of my friends is gonna join the Navy? i'm just wondering what it might mean.

in regard to a few things... ok.. how am i gay if im a girl (i guess i didnt' make that clear) and its a guy? plus, there was nothing more than friendship involved in the dream.
another thing, i do believe it may be possible to have dreams taht predict stuff.. i for one, have had alotof dreams that came true.. a good fact that its notjust me is this: my dady dreamed 3 nights in a row that my mother had twins... a few weeks later she found out she was pregnant... then a few months later.. guess what? she had a set of twins!.. this is 10 years of me being an only child later here! you tell me thats just a coincidence!!!
but no, im not a mystic.. i jsut think if its not proven that dreams mean nothing... then why can't there be a possibility of dreams having meanings?

To see your friends in your dream, signifies aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to integrate these rejected part of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Additionally, this symbol foretells of happy tidings from them and the arrival of good news.
To dream that you are missing something/someone, denotes a sense of being hurt, out of control and being disorganized.
To see a person in uniform, indicates that you may be conforming too much and living in too much of a regimented manner. Also, you may need to fit in and stop going against the crowd. To see people in strange uniforms, signifies disruption.
To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defence mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions. To wake up crying, suggest the grieving of your soul and that you need to change your ways and how you approach things.

This all really depends on your philosophy of dreams, doesn't it? If you believe that dreams are some sort of of out of body experience or collective consciousness type thing, then you probably have a more mystical view about dreams and their significance. If you believe dreams are are more concrete, then probably not.
Most psychologists/therapists (from what I understand) do NOT encourage that you read way too much into dreams or try to come up with giant theoretical/symbolic explanations. Nobody has a concrete answer as to what exactly consciousness even IS, let alone answering how your brain is working while in a state of R-E.M sleep. Sure, we can see what parts of the brain are lighting up when you engage in various activities. However, we can't tell if dreams are a psychological mechanism that exists to help us cope with daily situations/problems/etc or if dreams are a sort of recreational kind of thing (your mind havig fun or occupying itself while sleeping), or a variety of other theories. In short, don't read too much into it.
If you honestly think your dreams have some sort of predictive quality, I would be interested in hearing why you believe that. Why do YOU think a simple dream might possibly mean one of your friends is going to join the Navy? If you have other data that we don't (like let's say your friend stopped by the Navy recruiter's office the other day and talked to you about it), that is one thing. Maybe your mind is WORRIED about the possibility? Possibility and certainty are two different things though. You seem pretty certain that there is a high probability that your friend might join the navy BASED on this dream. Why?

It's very possible that you could be foreseeing one of your friends joining the service. If that is not it, I'd say that there is some lingering feelings you have for someone that went away in such a dramatic fashion as joining the service. You miss this person. It's even possible that you are foreseeing this person who left you coming back into your life.

It might mean that you're afraid of someone you love (friends, family) being taken away from you. I'm not sure how to get the dreams to stop.

It means that subconsciously you really want to be with a blue eyed navy pilot. Maybe you watched top gun too many times and are secretly in love with maverick or goose.

Seriously, dreams aren't signs to the future. Unless they are from God.
EDIT: You aren't gay...don't listen to that guy. Gay isn't a gene by the way, it's a choice.

i didn't read your dream, but i always see recurring dreams with the same motifs and people as something strongly that the world is warning you or trying to tell you will happen, both good and bad ones.
