Bears and humans walk on the soles of their feet. Most other large mammals walk on the front part of their feet. The rest of their foot looks like part of their leg. How many joints do bears and humans have within the long straight part of their leg?

After germinating in a mulch of old TV Guide's and honeybee droppings, prior to leaving their chrysalid form: between eight and twelve. Later, when all their feathers have grown in and provided they've foraged a proper diet of wild berrys and discarded pizza crusts: as many or as few as they elect.

I thought your question was very succinct and nicely composed, by the way.

People have 1 or 2. That would be the knee and the ankle. I don't think they want you to include the ankle though, because I think that is what they are getting at in the next question. In some other animals, the ankle would actually be another joint in the "long straight part" of the leg.

This is a really horribly worded question. You should tell your teacher I said so.
