A. First ionization energy
B. Atomic Radius
C. Electronegativity
D. Ionic Radius.

Please help me and explain how you get your answer. I understand A and C, but not B and D. Anyway I know you have to use a periodic table. Can you help?

Letter A is the correct answer. Since Li has fewer electrons and they are closer to the nucleus it will hold the electrons stronger.

B - false - the atomic radius increases as you go down a group so K would be larger. K has more levels of electrons added to it so it gets bigger.

Letter C is the correct answer. Since electronegativity increases as you go up the group, Li would have a higher electronegativity than K.

D - false - the ionic radius increases as you go down a group so K would be larger. It has more levels of electrons added.

the answer is A

its not B because K is just a larger element with protons electrons and neutrons

its not C because Li is a noble gas so has no EN, K has a larger EN even though it isn't very high

its not D. even though it is a lot more complicated then this, K is sufficiently larger to have a higher ionic radius.

it is A because the shielding of outer electrons in K, it is easy remove an outer electron. Li electrons don't have anywhere near this kind of shielding.

my bad. phys is right about the EN not me
