I think you need to focus the question a bit. Genetic engineering for what purpose? Better food? Curing diseases? Growing food in poor countries with bad soil? Making cuter dogs?

Cloning has several meanings as well. Molecular cloning? Animal cloning? Human cloning?

We need to get rid of all these silly laws restricting the research of stem cells, get some serious fundage for it and see what benefit we can get from them. I believe that cloning of tissues and organs would be a great thing, as far as a whole person, that would be a bad idea, the world is already overpopulated as it is. Genetic engineering is already in full screen (your corn is taller, vegetables are bigger, disease resistance strains of wheat are being grown all over the world. The only problem that i see with genetic engineering is it really cuts back on the diversity of life. For example if we get down to depending on two or three genetically engineered crops and the rest die out, what do we do when the genetically engineered ones are killed off by a new disease..........we starve.

cloning of humans is wrong... why would you want to clone humans? Just to know that we could, that's bs...you want an extra person in your family or something just Adopt.. there are many more children out there that need your help than somebody who clones. .. we can't play God.. Furthermore, there are those that try it so it would be good for ogran transplants, that's not good either.. Imagine you're born and raised and you're one sole purpose in life is grow a healthy organ for somebody else and then die? unfair, clones are people and individuals as well. If you could clone just the organ it'd be ok but not otherwise. Now genetic engineering... I guess it's ok if you have some kind of degenerating disease that can be fixed by it, but engineering babies just so their aspects can be those that the parents want is wrong as well in my point of view.

Well there you have it, that's just my point of view.

I think it is unfair to the person who will be born just like someone else, they will be a normal person too and want to find their identity.

and its not like you can clone an adult ou tof another adult, it has to be born as a baby and have to go through an entire lifetime.
