I heard that some scientists are removing pluto as a planet do you think that they should start teaching kids that pluto isnt a planet?

Yeah I think that pluto despite the IAU's definition of a planet should still be called a planet I mean it was taught to many as kids its just going to confuse a lot of people.

They already have removed it as a planet. It's a dwarf planet. The only reason I believe it still should be is because it has been since it was discovered. BUT, there are 3 requirements in which a planet must have to be considered a planet.

1. It must have enough mass and gravity to form itself into a ball.
2. It must orbit a star
3. It must reign supreme in its own orbit having "cleared the neighborhood" of other competing bodies. Meaning, it must be the only object in its orbit, with nothing else along with it (unless it be a moon)

Pluto has not yet cleared its neighborhood, many things are orbiting around with it. There are 2 other dwarf planets in our solar system that many people don't know about. There's Cerus in the asteriod belt, but it.. obviously has not cleared its area, and another out past pluto (Planet X) which has also not cleared its area.

Pluto isn't a planet anymore. The membership of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) voted on the planet definition proposals at their meeting in Prague a few months ago...I think in August.

all I know is that all through my lifetime Pluto has been a planet and now they wanna take it away... it won't be the same with only 8 planets I think it's a stupid idea and will always consider Pluto a planet

Who are we to judge? It's been there millions of years. I'll always think of it as a planet.

Who the hell do those guy who voted it out think they are??? I didn't vote for them!!! Why is what they say fo frigging important?! So what if they have telescopes and degrees! What's to stop them from changing the criteria when ever they want to, and excluding other planets? WHO gave them the authority to make those decisions??? I sure as hell didn't!
