Can any one tell me why candles and electrical stuff stand a better chance of starting a fire when left on for ten hours when you are away from home , But never start a fire while being used ten hours when you are home?

Actually, the statistical chance of a fire starting with equipment use is the same whether you're home or not. It's just that the fires that start when you're there tend to be put out faster and cause less damage than the ones that start when you're not. So the ones that occur when you're away get reported on more often and stick in your memory more. So cognitively they seem to happen more often.

just the way things happen ... when you are home, you tend to monitor the situations more than you think, and fires can't start
