They are given all the hay they can eat, a tarp shelter and heated water. They also have thick winter coats and blankets on. Current temp. is -12. The live outside 24-7 and have been since September.
Just looking for anything anyone else knows of that might make them a little more comfortable until the weather breaks on Wednesday.

That is a good point we already do that for them, but actually with beet pulp. It is better for them than bran, and it tastes yummy too.(its got molasses in it ;))

Sounds like you are doing a great job. My horses are also in the freezing weather, down to -30. Some stay outside all the time, but they all have a lean-to for shelter. Your horses will be just fine, they can handle it with no trouble : )

They will love you to death if you give them a warm Bran mash.

sounds like your doing all you can do .... maybe build a barn for next winter would be nice
