i have a 96 corolla that is still in good condition, with 120k miles. it will be very squeaky at random.... either when it's warming up in the morning, sometimes when it's taking turns, and occasionally while idling. my cousin mentioned something about a belt conditioner, which i'm not sure what that is. any other suggestions? other than the squeakiness it rides fine.....

Turning, if it is accompanied by a tick, tick, tick then you need CV Joints.

Just running, then you either have a loose belt or your belts are worn. Belt sprays and conditioners are a temporary fix and will wear off. Better safe than sorry, just have the belts replaced.

There is the possibility that you have some worn bearings in one of your pulley driven systems, Steering, A/C or Water Pump. Ask your mechanic to check them. Most mechanics are con-artists so make sure if they replace something they show you the old part and the new part before you pay!

It sounds like a serpentine belt for either the alternator or the power steering pump. You can check to see if the belts are cracked by looking at them with a flashlight. Their both located on the right side (passenger side) of the engine. Just shine the light on them and try to look at the inside part of the belt that has ribs in it. If the ribs are cracked or chunks are missing, then you definitely need the belt.

Your accessory belts are worn, and should be replaced.
Belt conditioner works like an adhesive, it will make your belts hard and stiff after a short while of use. It also will attract dirt and grime to your engine and accessories. The best thing to do is replace your belts.

It could possibly be your serpentine belt, perhaps it is loose or worn. Go to someone who knows how to work on cars and just simply ask them to tighten your belt... Or just go to any Pep Boys and buy a new belt and take it to a shop(That would be the better thing in the long run.)

I am pretty sure that it is your fan belt. F The fan belt is under the hood and right bi the grill it looks like a belt. First check if its not just loose (tighten it then). If not You can get one at yoour local autozone or advance auto parts.

V belts in the engine compartment need tightening. That will get rid of the noise. Take to a mechanic. Tell him that it squeeks...he will fix.
