What type of tiles are you talking about, ceramic or vinyl tile?

what type of tiles if they are ceramic use a hammer and chistle and tap away at them but dont foget safety gloves and safety glasses

if they are carpet type tiles a steamer that removes wallpaper will do the trick i have used a spade in the past and slid them at the tiles they come up fine

I assume you are talking tiles that are glued down, take a metal scraper or an ice chopper and slide right under them. Or try softening the glue with a hair dryer or heat gun.

Sounds like you need to rent an air chisel, it's almost like a small jackhammer, but a chisel
