Amber. You should be applauded! Not just for your accent - but because there are no spelling mistakes in your question!

I doubt it since there's no such thing as a British accent. You're probably doing an English accent but then there's hundreds of them - and that's without the other three countries in the British Isles. I speak with a Mackem accent; 12 miles up the road, you have the Geordies (though you have to be a local to know the difference. 20 miles down the road, there's the Tees-siders. Then you get to Yorkshire and accents change even more.

The more pronounced accents are the North East (Mackems and Geordies), Brum (The Black Country - Birmingham and the Midlands), Scouse (Liverpool) and Cockney (London's East End). Then there's Cornish but they don't think of themselves as having an accent as a different language. Whey, man, whee disn't? Aye, Ah knaa whit ah'm on aboot but d'ye?

I'm curious, what exactly is this 'british accent'? there are so many variations. Is it a melding of received, welsh, cockney, northern, scottish and all the other million variations?
I assume you mean a stereotypical English accent.

If it's 'amazing' i'm sure you'll fool people, there are so many different accents and so many immigrants in england they aren't going to mistrust you/care what you sound like. When i was living over there people would think i was south african, canadian, a kiwi or american as often as australian. Apparently we all sound identical (pah! kiwi, aussie and saffa sound about as similar as welsh, scot and pom)

You might get caught out when people ask you were you're from though.
Talking like helena boham carter and saying you are from Birmingham for example... so make sure you figure that question out before they ask you.

More importantly, why would you bother? It would be much more fun to pretend to be 'british' when you weren't in england surely? Although i suppose an english accent would be something of a novelty in say, london for example...

you should embrace your accent, being foreign is fun!

Where are you from? America? I would think its easier to fool your own people than us because it is our natural accent.

I can impersonate an American accent and to an extent a Scottish one, but I wouldn't think I would fool the natives of those countries.

Oh and remember that we have different words for certain things so you will possibly slip up on that too!

The British accent is the easiest one to do! Come back when you can fool us with your Scottish accent.

If your accent is so good why don't you speak like that all the time.

By the way, which accent is it. There is the Scouse, Geordie, Cockney, Yorkshire etc. etc. and that is just in England.

Madonna thinks she has an English accent too.
