Why wear black? Because the kids you hang out with wear black, right? I'm guessing if your mom is against, you are most likely a better person than those other kids because you've probably been raised right. Honey, ditch the black polish along with your freaky friends. I'm sure some of them are fine kids, but that type of look/lifestyle attracts troubled outcasts. So get out before it's too late.

I do have a suggestion for a compromise with your mom. Around here, the girls get french tips but in colors. Maybe ask if she would meet you in the middle by letting you get black tips. But remember, take a look at your friends and decide if that is really the type of people you want to be associated with.

well black is a good color to wear in clothes eye liner thats tastful but black nail polish is tacky im sorry i agree with ur mother purple is my color but i dont put it on my nails of course i would before black there are so many colors that im sure you like and you could wear with black clothes like red pinks think about it .

Show her some pictures of women in magazines, movies, t.v. dressed "normal", wearing black nail polish. When I first started wearing black nail polish it was taboo. Now, everyone and their mom wears it. If you can't get her to see your point, then just drop it, it's really not that important and when you get older you can wear whatever you want. Im waiting till I move out to get my tattoo.

i would prefer a dark violet color. Looks almost like black but not black. Be sure to out on basecoat before the polish or it would turn your nails yellow. XD

start wearing just a little black on your nails.....
like maybe paint another color, then use a sharpie and draw on ur nail (dots, stripes, etc. *just make sure the sharpie is only on where polish is...or else it could stain your nail*) get her used to that idea, then gradually, start using a little more w/ the sharpie. then ask her if u could buy some polish....
