I like Katie. Karis just sounds a little odd to me. Plus, if she wants to get any personalized things - stickers, pencils, souvenirs, etc., she'll be able to find Katie but never Karis.
If you do choose Katie, make her legal name Kathleen, though. That way, when she gets older she can be Kathy or Kathleen if she wants. Plus, it's fun to have a nickname rather than having your whole name be a nickname.

Definitely Katie! Karis sounds like a food, syrup or medication.
I would also definitely say Kathryn as a legal name so that when she is grown she has the option of using a more professional name in the business world.

I like both names, but I prefer Karis because it is less common.
If you decide on Katie, I think the name Kathryn would be a good choice for her full name, nickname Katie. It will age better than Katie alone.
I also like the similar names Kara or (Cara) and Karrin.
Good luck to you, and I hope this helps! :)

Karis is a great name. It's not common, and not trendy or silly. If you go with Katie, Kathryn is always beautiful. It's too elegant and classy to ever be old or boring. Still, I'd go with Karis.
BTW, my name is not Kathryn! LOL

If you like the name Katie, you can give that to your daughter, without her "legal name" being Kathryn, Katherine, Kathleen or anything. Katie is a name unto itself, nothing wrong with that. :) I knew a guy whose name was Jon, and everyone thought it was short for Jonathan, but it WASN'T. His parents just liked the name Jon.
As for the name Karis, I don't particularly like it. The main reason is because it does not sound the least bit feminine to me, and I prefer girls' names that sound feminine and boys' names that sound masculine. So, as you might guess, I do NOT like "gender-neutral" names like Taylor.
As an alternate to Karis, which sounds similar but is MUCH prettier, have you considered Carissa? I love that name. :)

I like Katie/Kathryn. Karis is pretty, too, but I like it spelled Karys.
