I thought it would just be a mean, like an average but apparently it is not 9.5. Does anyone even know what a geometric mean is?

Thank you in advance.

Geometric Mean is pretty cool.

Arithmetic Mean: Add up n items and divide by n.
Geometric Mean: Multiply n items and take nth root.

So SquareRoot(7*12) = 9.165

If there were 3 items, you'd take the cubed root.
