(average size) but i am losing a little bit of the mucus plug everyday. this is my 3rd pregnancy. i lost it the same way with my last baby but i was 37 weeks pregnant. should i worry? the dr. said every thing was fine but why am i losing my mucus plug already? will it grow back so i can carry to full term?

You can lose a mucous plug and develop another one several times before you deliver. Don't worry, it's normal.

Call your doctor and see if he can check you out. I lost my plug both times at 24 weeks. It doesn't mean you will be going into labor soon. I have made it both times to full term without my plug. It just means you will have to take showers instead of baths and your doctor will check your cervix more frequently to watch for dilation. Don't be surprised if you do dilate a little. I dilated to 3cm and have been the same for the last 2 1/2 months.

Are you really losing it, or are you just having thick discharge? If you're worried, call your doc first thing in the morning. Better safe than sorry. Thick discharge is normal during pregnancy, but it's a lot less than the actual mucus plug.

I started losing my mucos plug at 28 weeks, and by 36 weeks it was totally gone. I didn't go into labor until 38 weeks.

If the doctor said it was fine then I'd believe him.
