We recently went to LV and won all of our money in Old Las Vegas. We won enough to cover our room and food for our three day stay and all the money lost at Treasure Island and the other casions on the strip. The nicest casino we went into was at the Venetian. If it matters there seemed to be the least cigarette smoke there. We saw a hypnotist show at the Tropicana that was really funny. If he is still there it is worth seeing. If you go try to get on stage. Have a great time.

The strip isn't hard to cover in one day (exhausting) but two days is definitely enough to visit all the ones on Las Vegas Blvd. The off-strip ones are good too but don't have the attractions the ones on the strip have.
So visit them all, but make more time for:
Mandalay Bay - Aquarium
Luxor - just random stuff they have
Bellagio - fountains and their garden room. Go to the buffet, it's worth the $30!
Stratosphere - go to the top, ride the rollercoasters
Frontier - mud wrestling!
Places to eat
Bellagio - buffet, restaurants
Wynn - buffet
Rio - buffet
MGM grand - buffet
Place to gamble
..everywhere but I prefer Mandalay Bay and Bellagio
Place to go clubbing/bars
Mandalay Bay
Hooter's Hotel

Ceasars Palace... The art inside is wild.
The MGM has lions lounging around in a glass cage.
The Circus Circus has a live Circus inside.
The Luxor is like a huge Egyptian Pyramid
New York, New York has the coolest roller coaster!
Just depends on your taste I guess.

The most fun, wild themes and atmosphere are at:
Luxor (extravagantly Egyptian), NYNY (like movie sets of New York), Hilton (SpaceQuest casino & Star Trek), Caesars (extravagantly Roman), Venetian (canals, marble, luxury galore). If you like tropical themes, the Mirage is the best, with the volcano and tigers and waterfalls.

ok, red dragon doesn't exist. so, i don't know what that guy is smoking. every casino has kind of a "niche". do you want drunk frat guys? then go to hard rock or the palms. if you want to just chill and relax then go to mandalay bay or monte carlo. i personally like the luxor. it's not the hottest or the newest, but it's priced fair and it's really easy to get in and out of if you have a rental car.

Define "cool" - Nice, small and quiet? or large, colorful and full of people? or one that has a nice theme?
Each of the resorts has their own level of "cool" if you define a certain way.
I like the remodel of the aladdin/Planet Hollywood. it has the old world feel, yet very modern and clean. The Wynn is very oriental themed and "cool" in that way.
