x+2=15/2

Multiply both sides by 2:
2x+4=15

Subtract 4 from both sides:
2x=11

Divide 2 from both sides:
x=11/2 or 5.5

Check:
11/2+2=7 1/2
11/2+4/2=7 1/2
15/2=7 1/2
7 1/2=7 1/2

I'm not sure if the 71/2 is suppose to be a fraction or if it means 71 divided by 2. I will do both.

If it is suppose to be a fraction then:
x+2=71/2
x=67/2
--------------
If the 71/2 means division then:
x+2=71/2
x+2=35.5
x=33.5

you would subtract the 2 from the 7 1/2 i am guess and then you would get x=5 1/2. then plug it back into the problem and make sure that it is true! hope that helped! good luck!
