Over the last 30 years, companies have managed to shed themselves of the idea that they may have a degree of social responsibility towards their employees. Close a factory in a small town and effecivly close all supporting businesses rendering the town close to 100% dependent on the state to support them. Its happened a lot.

Of course such companies still pay more than a little lip service to 'caring for employees'.

The bottom line might appear to be profit but we should never overlook the fact that quite a few get paid handsomely for thinking up and realizing plans that can save a company large amounts of money.

One of the favorite themes used in trying to sell us change is the inability of the dinosaurs to adapt to a new climate so they died out. This cliche overlooks the fact that the dinosaurs were around considerably longer than we have been.

Why employ a Western engineer when his equally well qualified Asian counterpart can do the same job for a fifth of the cost?

We cant stop this tide of change because change has become a fashion in its own right.

There are few jobs for life unless you run the company of course.

The ever changing climate in business. As businesses are competing to do things for the least amount of money, they are searching for technology, mass production, job outsourcing, in order to compete in the dynamic business environment.

So, if it costs $35.00 an hour to get a graduate from a leading university with a degree in technology to do a job, yet the same job can be done with somebody else in India with a similar degree but need to only pay them $4.00 an hour, which worker would you hire?

If you need a building to get work done in the USA and the minimum amount of taxes would cost $100,000 a year, and there is no taxes or health care benefits to be paid if you took the plant oversees, would you have the business there or here?

That is the questions that we have to ask? Is outsourcing worth it? If we do not pay decent wages here to workers here, then who here would be able to buy our products?

Wal-mart prides itself on outsourcing to get the best prices, at costs to American jobs, and our enviorment...but who really pays those low costs?

Union busting politicians.

The labor unions have always stood up for employees and saw to it that they were not mis-treated by their employers.

They set the standard wage and worked to get their employees benifit packages.

Union busting politicians do just the opposite.

They ensure that employers can treat their employees any way they desire, and fire you for nothing but a dislike for your skin color.

the consumers actually have a say in fair labor treatments.the more people buy, the more that needs to be produced.when people dont buy, there is no need to produce..hence, cutbacks.. give everybody a tax cut nd they will have more to spend. thus opening the field for more demand to produce. then nobody has to be laid off or fired..tax cuts for everybody that works.. no cuts for welfare recieving non producers in society
