I have a few suggestions. First, make yourself to do lists so you can see exactly what you need to accomplish each day or week. Cross off each item when it has been accomplished. Divide the items into small, manageable chunks. For example, if you have to read 3 chapters in a book, make each chapter a separate item so you can feel a sense of accomplishment after completing each chapter.

Start making activities that you like such as watching tv or playing xbox a reward for completing a small chunk of work. For example, if I read this chapter then I cam play xbox for 20 minutes.

Ask your parents or teacher to help you. Show them your task lists and goals. Maybe your parents will be willing to provide small reward to you for reaching your goals or completing your task list.

Find a place that you can devote to studying. If you have a place that you always study, then just sitting there will make you feel like studying. Maybe you should go to a coffee shop or a quiet place in your house.

Study skills are very important in college. 4.0 college students are not necessarily the smartest or best. They are the students that are very good at managing their time. Every 4.0 college student I know (including myself and I have almost completed my doctorate) makes doing fun activities contingent upon completing work.

Good luck!

I would suggest that you unplug your x-box (ouch, i know) and put it in the closet. Turn the comuter completely off (or at least the moniter). Fix up a particular space to study and do all your homework. Make it clean, organized, and appealing to your particular taste so you dont mind being there. You should take a break every 30 minutes if studying for an extended amount of time to stretch your body and rest your mind. Try cutting the computer back on only when you're done with your homework/studying. And perhaps only bring out the x-box on the weekend (all day if you want), since you dont have to worry much about schoolwork on those days. Think of it a a reward for concentrating so hard on school all week. That'll make it easier, b/c everybody likes rewards! I'm in college and I had to make some major studying changes myself and this worked for me. Although I wasnt addicted to an x-box, I was addicted to my computer and my sims2 games. (roll eyes) Good luck in your studys!

If you think you're too lazy for a Jr. College then forget a university. I didn't know what true studying was till I went to university.
You either grow up and take charge of your life by taking school seriously, or forget wasting your time and money going to school, because the reality is that someone that's lazy won't go far in upper divission classes... Med school??? are you kidding yourself??? keep on dreamin!

You could try putting away your toys until you finish your work. that's what most people do, and what you'll have to do if you ever make it into college.
