I would love to be an ambassador. I love being involved with the world, and I believe diplomacy would give me a great career. Therefore, I was thinking of taking International Relations as my major. However, my specialty is math. I am not going to lie; I am a math whiz. I feel like that if I study International Relations, I would be wasting my math talents. Is there a major or career that has both diplomacy and mathematics combined?

There are some areas of game theory which are relevant to a formal study of international relations. I think of the work of people like Anatol Rappaport. Also, if you took IR with a heavy emphasis on economics you would find yourself doing a lot of math. Talk with or e-mail the undergraduate secretary or equivalent in the IR programmes that look interesting to you and explain your interests.
Good luck.
