To demonstrate the addition of 8 numbers and finding their mean (or average):

(x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 + x5 + x6 + x7 + x8) / 8 = 17

To find the sum of the numbers, notice that we have the sum right there; all we need to do is get rid of that pesky 8 in the denominator. This can be done by multiply both sides by 8.

(x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 + x5 + x6 + x7 + x8) = 17(8)

x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 + x5 + x6 + x7 + x8 = 136

hi, what u have to do:
Don't think it is complicated at all
Let the sum of eight numbers be x
Therefore x divided by 8 should give 17
So x shall be 17 times 8 which is 136
Isn;t it easy.
Just remember you can do it.
