No. I know that many bands will be great and be on the lists of the best bands ever, but no one can overtop The Beatles. They are classics that will never die. I'm an adolescent of the new generation, and I think that The Beatles are greater than any other band than I've heard on the radio. The Beatles weren't just a group of guys getting together and playing some music. They loved it. They loved playing together. Even after The Beatles broke up, they still wrote songs together. Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote many songs after the band broke up. The same with Ringo Starr. If you look in his CDs, many of the songs have George, John, and Paul as writers or guitarists for him. Even if they broke up, they still played together. Nobody will ever become better than The Beatles. The Beatles were the greatest then, now, and forever.

I doubt it, because bands and other celebrity personalities aren't revered like they were back then, and it's tougher today to come up with something so completely new and unique that no one's ever heard the likes of before.

The music industry is also a lot more diluted than it was back then, with new genres and artists emerging all the time. I doubt we'll ever see another band command the attention of the entire country in the same way the Beatles and the Stones did, because there exist the genre divides in addition to loyalty to specific artists.

DoH!

> as the greatest pop band of all time <

- greatest of all time -

- of ALL time -

If, now let me try and get this into simple Englasi for vou.

'Greatest' ~ well it tends to imply, the ULTIMATE: Thee Top of Thee Heap: that THERE just Ain't no HIGHER: THAT'S "IT" MAN.

As such then, then there can NOT be any Higher or Better as the words, 'Of ALL time' were added.

So, you are asking the impossible when you even dare to suggest 'Will any group replace ....' as you've already stated 'the Beatles were the Best of ALL time.'

If you stop to think about it, it's a bit like claiming your bet on a horse as the winner halfway into a race.

'Or', (and the Final point is...), the race ('time') just ain't finished (quite) just yet (...unless of course, you know something that you're not telling us!).

[ I may not agree with you with your choice of The Winner of the title, by the way. ]

Sash.

Plenty - the beatles really aren't the greatest pop band of all time
How about Ian Dury and the blockheads? well I like em.

probably not. musical tastes have become so varied, it is hard to imagine one group having such a universal impact on everyone. so many artist push different limits, it would be hard for any band to break past some barrier to make that kind of change.

I'm sure many could debate what "better" means, but when you say "best pop band" it becomes harder to debate the Beatles impact.

yep as it is already arguably a unagreable statement firstly it is important to mention that one mans rubbish music is anothers gold i think the beatles are amazing however other people i know would say that about the clash or rolling stones even more modern day music like oasis arctic monkeys. there is so much talent over the years in the music industry that it is too hard to say and no one can predict the future can they.

I seriously doubt it, i think it's too late now for any band, no matter how big they become, to have the effect the beatles had.

I highly doubt it. It's not so much the band as it is what they did for everybody. People came out of their shells and learned to live it up and cut lose. Way cool. They were the beginning.
