Renewable normally includes organic sources that are still growing like trees and corn and natural sources that should keep on going whether we use them or not, like sunshine, wind, and water power. Certain kinds of nuclear reactors can make more fuel than they use by converting available minerals while they are making heat.
Non-renewable are sources made far in the past which are stockpiled in the earth and are not being replaced. These include coal, oil, gas, uranium.
