i have recently got a laptop which i have set up to the same wireless network as my pc. do i have to pay for a separate antivirus? if not, how do i set it up plzzzzzz?

You do need a separate antivirus. Your antivirus on your pc only protects the pc. I am not sure, but you might not need a firewall for your laptop, but that depends on how the laptop connects to the internet. If it connects through the pc, then the laptop doesn't need its own firewall.

Yes you do need antivirus and firewall on your laptop. The wifi network may have a very basic firewall built in, but it's not enough unless you are very very careful with your internet.

you could always go to grisoft and download AVG for free. I am sure others would agree. Nortons installed on a laptop would be detrimental to its performance

No. Norton is a crappy product and costs money.
Go to www.majorgeeks.com and get either AVG or AntiVir for free there and they are better than the products you have to pay for, especially Norton.

OK never use Norton it's one of the worst ever . AVG FREE is much beta and its free up-dates and everything.

just to say arn't AVG charging £2.50/month now for there anti-virus.
