This friend of mine refuses to leave her husband even tho he treats her like his property (A slave) complains the kids took away his freedom, Planned to have the bank foreclose on thier home, cheats on her and wishes out of the marrage. She says she stays because she loves him and wants him to change his mind and stay and love her and the 4 kids!

this is just what some women get stuck with. they have the mind set of staying with this man because it is "for the kids" but really she could be just afraid to go back out into the world alone. it can be scary. her plans were to stay with this guy for ever and then when things don't go as planned it is kinda hard to just back out of it.

She needs to leave and separate from him for now and seek counseling and help for her and maybe even for the marriage. But she needs to get out for the time being. She cannot change him the only one she has the power to change is her! Have her go to http://www.drphil.com and email Dr Phil and Robin and ask for help there and see what they have to help with or suggest and if i were her i would listen to them!

She's under the illusion that she can change a man. If they stay together, I bet she will realize that it was a futile attempt and that she should've moved on while she had a chance.

Because her self esteem is so low, she thinks that is what she deserves. She needs professional help, all your talking to her goes in one ear and out the other, right? Until her self esteem is fixed, this is the man she desires.

She probably feels like if she needs him in her life to function. She thinks that if she leaves she will not be able to make it on her own.
