to welcome the troops back home?

Apparently some of you are just stupid because in most airports they have signs about what time a plane will land with our troops on board.

That's really not fair at all. Everyone knows when the Colts will be arriving, but we're not privy to that information about the troops unless a soldier happens to be a family member or friend. And, By The Way, I have been in various airports across this U.S. when the troops were filing either in or out, and Everyone stopped to applaud them. It's ridiculous to make the slightest comparison between the two, and I do not appreciate it.

I don't think your question is fair. I know lots of people who are completely behind the troops and will do anything to help them if asked, but would not feel comfortable going to an airport to welcome home strangers. That has nothing to do with Colts fans who have a right to cheer their team when they come home. Your question is a lot like those smarmy attempts to create class warfare and to divide people rather than unite them. I am not a Colts fan and I think your question is designed to be hurtful. Shame on you for asking it.

to be fair, are the planes that carry soldiers back from Iraq ever announced when or where they will be landing?

If they were, I'm sure a TON of people would be showing up to greet the troops as they exit the plane.

The troops do not all take a flight back to the same city either. They take individual flights back to their home areas.
I don't think it would be possible to announce where each and every soldier is arriving and where.

nobody knows when the troops come home its not like the army is coming home at once. that falls on the town there based out of. not a counrty as a whole.so if you have some troops coming back home in your town its up to you to let the people know about it
