I don't know if it's a good idea, but it may not be a bad one, either. At least this way you could get rid of the clay garlic baker that's just taking up precious space in the back of your cupoard.

Then, if you have a typewriter (what's that?!) you could use it to write a story about the experience.

Well, the critter's name is spelled "pika", and they are wild animals, related to rabbits. I've seen them in the mountains of Washington State. They are quite unafraid of people that walk past them on rocky trails.
Here's a wikipedea article on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pika

No, I wouldn't have one for a pet. If I needed a cute cage critter, I'd get a guinea pig.

There is another "pica", which is a unit measure in the field of typesetting. Nobody has units of measure for pets!

1 PostScript pica = 4.23333333 millimeters

"Pica" is also a weird eating disorder where children and some mentally ill adults eat stuff that isn't even close to food. Like lead paint chips and other garbage.

Well all I know is Peter Piper picaed a peck of pickled peppers and what did it get him? I'll tell you, nothing but pain and heartache. he picaed one peck and the critics came out of the woodwork asking how many more pecks of pickled peppers was he going to pica. You of course realize Peter was never the same, the pressure forced him into early retirement from picking, sure he still picas his nose and he picas his friends, but he will never, ever pica a peck of pickled peppers or pica his friend's nose again.

I'm not a believer in keeping wild animals as pets.
In several mountain states they are considered threated wildlife.

Don't encourage a market for these critters, keep them where they belong, in the rock falls of the mountains.

Get a nice Guinea Pig instead.

dude, if they are wild animals and they dont sell them in stores, it isnt a good idea to have one. Why dont you get a chinchilla instead? They are much cuter.

I think they're cute. Loud in the morning- but still cute.

So what they're endangered and unlawful to domesticate in SOME states- YOU don't live in one.

My neighbor's cat is an excellent mouser- I'll borrow him for a few and we'll catch one for you ;)
