Many people like to have an opinion. A lot of time they don't really know what they are talking about but they don't let that stop them. Too often they are speaking about themselves and not considering that your perceptions and goals my be different. Many also pick up the "catch phrase" of the day and repeat it without thinking.

Have you asked them what they mean when they say that? Do they think that you are already attractive and may be taking a step the wrong way? Or that what you want to do is something you may be sorry for later?

The fact is that you came here to live your own life and once you are of legal age, the decisions and results of your choices are your own.

So choose wisely ;-)

The deal is, People are full of it.They are attracted to one look, but say stupid things like -Be yourself.Marilyn is and was a product. She marketed herself and so did the studio. It is the studio that made her.It is very difficult in this day and age to "Be yourself". We are insane about our bodies, our faces, our everything.I admit I will have some surgery done to lift up my face in a few.People are vain but will not admit it.I say, if you aren't comfortable with your looks-see what you CAN do to make yourself feel good about yourself. I think that has been taken too far with teenagers getting breast implants etc. but Marilyn also had surgery. What can I say ? I love Marilyn!

By changing her appearance she BECAME herself.
Think of it in a transsexual-like way, he/she is a person trapped in the wrong gender's body, they only become themselves when "placed"(for lack of a better word) in the appropriate gender.

It's the same with an appearance change with relation to your own true *self*, be that hair color or an extreme plastic surgery-laden makeover. Some people are blondes trapped inside brunette heads; some people embrace their traits (e.g. a prominent nose, or a mole) as their own trademark, while people do not recognize their true self within these traits and hurry to eliminate or change them.

So, if you feel your reflection doesn't really bounce your *true* image back to you, change it up!

Good luck!

You have to do what is comfortable for you. Whatever it is that you like, no matter how lame or spectacular it is. At the end of the day you are the only one living in your skin. Not someone else. So the best thing to do is just do what you feel like doing. I think the worst thing that a person can do is try to clone somebody. If you like someone's style don't duplicate it to the point that you totally lose sight of who you are but not one thing was invented or created for one human being so... with that being said. Be inspired by others....and Be yourself.

If that makes sense.

I don't know why people say that...
sometimes, your current look is better than the newer one..

but it was wrong with me.....
i got side swetp bangs cause i was tired of my regular bangs and they looked WAY better and before!!

Change can sometimes be good, but if you don't like your new look, don't be afraid to change it back or to a new one!

People loved the way she looked.... that dosen't mean they loved her as a person.

Anyhow If you want to change your look, I say go for it!.... As long as your are secure in yourself and are not changing for someone else it's all good.

I guess it's because sometimes people want to experiment with different things. Maybe they might find that their new change makes them feel more comfortable about themself. There are probably so many answers, but that's all that I've got.

you should only change something about yourself if you are doing it for you. people say you should just be yourself because when you should just be yourself not who other want you to be. so if you see yourself with blonde hair, bigger breasts, or a tattoo, then i say go for it. if you are dong it to impress others than your doing it for the wrong reasons.
