but his song to me is 'I don't want to miss a thing' from aerosmith

Don't have a partner, but "I'll Be", by Edwin McCain is good. Also "Save The Best For Last", by Vanessa Williams. Oh, and "Right Here Waiting", by Richard Marx. I like "The Way It Is", by Bruce Hornsby, or even by Celine Dion (two completely different songs). "Home", by Michael Buble is WONDERFUL. Most of his songs would be appropriate. Eric Clapton has some nice ones, too.
Classics include: "My Girl" by The Temptations, "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers, "Walking In Memphis" by Marc Cohn, anything by Barry White, etc.
