I have just found out that I am pregnant with our first child.
I was due on my period on Thursday, which didnt happen, took the test Sunday & another today, both are positive. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning to confirm. Now I am trying to work out when I concieved. I am guessing that I am 3-4 weeks pregnant after my husband & I had intercourse the week after last months period. But we had intercourse the day before last months period, then I 'came on' the following day.
Now I know I probably concieved this month as a period is the unfertilised egg 'breaking up' (for lack of better words), but do u think it is possible that I couldve concieved the day before my last period???

No silly replies please, only genuine one's.

Thank u very much x

Its very unlikely you conceived the day before your last period as that bleeding would have meant the end of the pregnancy, as not only is it the egg breaking up but it is also the shedding of the lining of your uterus (womb). However your pregnancy is considered to start from the first day of your last period even though you probably cionceived about 2 weeks later if you have a 28 day cycle

Yes it is very poosiable. Some people have their periods the first few months and some have them the whole pregnancy, although it is rare it can happen. Also if it was the day before your last period you would have had that period anyways because the harmone level would not have been high enough to cause any type of pregnancy symptoms.

Hope this helps. Congulations.

i'm not to sure about following the dates of periods, but in a few weeks you will have your 1st dating scan to confirm how many weeks you are..when they give you a due date and tell you how many weeks, just count the days backwards until you reach the date.. for example if yu are 8 weeks pregnant go back 8 weeks to the date..that should be around the date you concieved.
however no exact date is right, you will never TRUELY know when you concieved, drs can just take a rough guess

Hi there and congratulations on the pregnancy, well i would say that u fell pregnant 2weeks after your last period but when u speak to the doctor they will date it from the date of your last period,so you are more than likely 4 and a half weeks there abouts, you will have a dating scan at approx 12 weeks that will reassure you...best of luck.x

You would have conceived when you had sex a week after your last period, not before. By the time you miss your period you are 4 weeks pregnant because they go by the first day of your last period. Congratulations!

Both are possible, but they'll calculate you EDD (estimated date of delivery) based on the first day of your last period. A better calculation will be taken when you get your first ultrasound (9-15 weeks), and a better one yet will be at the 16-22 week ultrasound.

Good luck!

your conceiving time would of been 2 weeks after the first day of you last period. give or take a day or 2. the doctor will determine how many weeks you are, by starting with the first day of you last period, if your last period was on , jan5, then you would be 4 weeks pregnant, and you would of conceived that baby on,or around the 19 of jan! congrats to both of you!!

You can defiantely have been pregnant on your last period. I was. I am due in March. I conceived in May, Which I had my period in May as well.. That's very likely. Good luck and Congratulations to you!!!!!! Good luck at your first doctor's appointment tomorrow. He/She will be able to tell you more and all that stuff.. :) Good luck again!

I'm really not sure, but when you go to your OB and they do an ultrasound you will find out how far along you are. Normally they just take it from your last period, but you could be one of those persons that continued to have a period. Good luck and congrats.

I wouln't worry too much about when you conceived...you have!!! well done.
They do say that you ovulate on the 10-14th day of the cycle so I dont think you fell last month.
Enjoy the pregnancy and I wouldn't worry about when you fell pregnant unless you have a good reason too....
good luck!
