I own both a Windows and Mac (G4) PC. Mac's are not prone to viruses (because user accounts do not have admin rights, like Windows accounts do. If you want Mac security, install Vista). Software is easier to install/unistall on a Mac, but harder to learn and use. Anyone who says that Mac's do not crash either have never used one, or only use it for web surfing. I have crashed more applications on my Mac then on my Windows PC. The only difference being, that with a Mac, it is easier to recover from an application crash. One thing to consider about Mac's though, is their cost of ownership. Do not believe everything in those Mac vs. Windows commercials as there are a lot of half truths. Mac's are more expensive to own as replacement parts are more expensive then their Windows counterparts. My DVD burner died on my Mac, and it cost $300 for anew one, while the PC equivalent is $50. You cannot just purchase any component for a Mac as the OS will not recognize it, the applications will not recognize it, and you may cause the system not to boot. Software is less plentiful for the Mac, and more expensive too. Do not even think of purchasing the Apple Cinema Display (LCD monitor) unless you have $2,000 (PC extra). There really is no difference in the capabilities of Mac's and Windows PC's today. Windows computers can do anything a Mac can do, and sometimes better, just ask Hollywood why they use Windows boxes for their animations instead of Mac's?

Mac are pretty most viruses ARE geared to windows cause lets face it. 90% of the world uses a Windows based operating system. Mac's typically don't crash as much as a PC and this is because they have smaller processing speeds, so very little room for error. But if ur into extreme gaming and overall speed like me. Then a mac won't do you any good.

i worked in tech support for an internet company and i was always able to get the macs back online. (it was always a connection probelm) with pc's 50% of the time it was a problem with the system and had to be refered to PC tech. based on my experience with computers at my job i would tell you that macs are reliable and durable and for the time being macs are not prone to viruses from the internet. macs cost more but in the long run you'll save money on PC tech and having to buy a new computer every couple years

They are right out of the box easy to set up, software that comes with the Mac allows you to be creative and do work, has compatibility with Windows Software, built in webcam. Really it is like a Volkswagen.
