Why would he? The only way for current to pass through his electric guitars, keyboards, or microphones is for one of them to have direct short. In other words the hot wire of the 2 wire electrical circuit had to be exposed, then come in contact with a conduction path to the poor Prince Rogers Nelson. Since he is, unfortunately, still around, we have to make the thesis that Prince's equipment had been wired correctly, with no sgort circuits, and a non-flaming, dancing, herky jerky prince.
In order to be harmed you HAVE to BE the circuit path to ground that a source of electricity is in contact with. The mere fact that you hold an object with current passing through it does not mean that it is defective to that extent.

for one, because he is Prince. And other than that, the same way that CBS can have armies of cameramen and A/V equipment allover and not have people getting electrocuted from those devices.

I asked myself the same thing. I came to the conclusion that they must have used wireless systems.
