Step 1. Any potential overdose requires a trip to the emergency room, so if this is happening right now, drag your friend there or call 911. If this is just a friend bragging about stuff, sleeping pills are central nervous system depressants, meaning they slow your brain functions. If you took too many all at once, you'd probably throw up and not much else. If you were trying to hurt yourself, and took them slowly over a few hours to let the drug build up to dangerous levels in your body, you would lose consciousness and stop breathing and die, if not treated. If the person was caught and their stomach was pumped before much of the drug was absorbed, there wouldn't be many side effects except some sleepiness from whatever drug got into the person's bloodstream.

I did this. I had to take a 2 night sleep lap to find out if I had sleep apena. The first night of the test I could not sleep but 15 or 20 minutes. So I asked the Doctor to give me some Ambien CR ...well the next night of the sleep lab I got hooked up to the equipt and i poped a sleeping pill (ambiem) and I waited and nothing happened! so at the time for lights out as they gave you time to read or watch tv i was still wired so i popped another. Well I also brought about four or five donuts and I ate one/two but what happened next was I woke up in the night..(I don't remember) and i asked to use the bathroom but this was on the video I ate the rest of the donuts and took at the rest of the ambien as I had it in my nightbag..15 Ambiens! Next day the Nurses could not wake me up and I was finally admitted to the Hospital(this was conducted in Mercy Hosp) and I had to stay 3 days on IV..but i did sleep well...I do not remember eating or taking the ambien but it was caught on tape and since then I have found that night time eating causes a person to get up and eat while they are asleep...also now i take Lunesta as this works better for me then Ambien or Rozeem? thats my story and I am sticking too it...I scared the heck out of the sleep lab because they were not monitoring me like they should be..sorry for the long story..also Marilyn Monroe was said to OD but I don't think so

Dangerous, it can slow your heart rate down and you can die, or get really sick... why are you asking this? If someone has overdosed call an ambulance immediately.
