Scott, Minnesota. Personally I am against them because it does not let kids express themselves through thier clothing. Although a part of me says they are good because you no longer could distinguish the rich kids from the poor kids, so it removes that stereotypical racism. Hope this helps you.

I am not usually for things like this but I do see where it would be a useful policy. It cuts down on the issue of bullies or the so called popular kids picking on children for what they do or do not wear. It is also good for those students who are lower or lower middle class that can not afford to go out and buy a wardrobe of the latest styles. Four or five uniforms would be good and then the kid can wear what he or she wants to when they return home. Teachers should also be required wear uniforms. Personally as a teacher I would like that because buying "professional" clothing can be a bit pricey. As far as my name and state go make something up. (your teacher won't know)

I am for uniforms. IV worn them during all my school life and appreciated the fact that I could keep my clothes from special days instead wearing them out wearing them to school everyday. And it eradicated the nuisance of finding what to wear and alleviated the burden of on my parents. I did wear normal.clothes to school for two years and hated the peer pressure and bullying that went along with it. The peer pressure was too much on.students who didn't wear the latest styles or trends. Kids weren't allowed to completely focus on.their studies. Kids were made fun off every day for their clothing choices. Uniforms should be mandatory in all schools. Period. You want your kid to express themselves, let them express it through the good grades, sports and honors clubs or social and arts clubs. That's true expression. Not in the latest Jordans you wear. That's y kids have gotten killed over their sneakers. Save the children. Uniforms for all.

I am completly against uniforms. They hamper down on creative expression, which is especially important in the years of students' lives in which they are installed. Dress codes are so strict now that uniforms only make the problem worse. A neighboring school of mine just got uniforms, and now all the students wear heavy makeup, crappy shoes, and big clunky jewelry, all as a way of trying to squeeze a little individuality through their clothing. I say, screw uniforms! Students need to be able to be creative, individualized, and show their personality through clothing, and if you take that away, you aren't giving them much to work with.

From my personal experience I am pro and anti uniforms. I've worn a school uniform all my life. They're bad because 1. there ugly 2. there uncomfortable and 3. you can't express your individuality. They're good becasue you don't have to worry about what others will think and you don't have to pick out what you're gonna wear to school the next day the night before. I'm completely for them. Eliminating all of the issues that come with the style, cultural, and economical message that clothes send lets the students focus on what they are SUPPOSED to be doing--learning. This is also good practice for later in life, when their 9-5 days will be ruled by dress and conduct codes.
