It means that when it is discovered that Sirius is missing, and Harry and Hermione are not in the hospital wing, it will be discovered that they had something to do with his escape and since Sirius is considered one of the worst criminals in the wizard world, they would be arrested, expelled and might even go to Azkaban. In short it would ruin their lives, but it was worth it because they helped Sirius escape. Harry Potter is such a great story and movie/s I can't wait for the seventh book.

Things undoubtedly would have been really messed up. But I'm really not sure...I would imagine that the Hermione and Harry who were talking to Ron would have disappeared and that the Harry and Hermione who were out and about would have been caught. Remember Snape came in claiming that it was Harry who rescued Sirius? Harry and Hermione would have been in a great deal of trouble and the story as we know it would be different.

Ok, this is confusing, but I'll try to make is simple.
If they didn't get back in time, they would be locked out of the hospital room. Madame Pomfrey would notice they were out of the room, and Snape would make them get expelled for breaking the rules by using the Time-Turner the wrong way. People would probably also figure out that if they went back in time, they were probably the ones who saved Sirius and Buckbeak. they might get sent to Azkaban then!!!

They would have been locked out of the hospital wing. Snape and Fudge would have come along and found them wandering around and known that they had helped Sirius fly away. They would have also been expelled for illegal use of the time turner and maybe sent to Azkaban for helping Sirius escape.

this part of the movie was really confusing to me. also one of my questions is that do they keep on going back in time. i think if they did not get back in time that is what would happen. thay would keep going back in time to save buckbeak and siriusexcept fo there would be no buckbeak and sirius to save becuz the previouse harry and hermiones would have done it.

Ron's mind would have been blown a lot worse than it actually was...and Snape would have found out who set Sirius free.

if they hadn't gone back to the hospital in time then, snape, fudge,
would have know it was them that set srirus free. and they would have been expelled, for illeagle use of time turner.
