No, I don't believe so. But to be on the safe side, why not contact the welfare people, they can tell you for sure.
The most important question is, how did you get the half pay? It seems like whoever is paying you should be able to answer the question you pose. Most importantly, where where you living when you were diagnosed with needing an operation?

Your housing benefit is calculated on your total household income, including spouse or partner and that of non dependents in your home.
If the total household income is low enough, you will qualify for some or all of the rent due. If too high, you will be non-eligible.
There is no simple answer to this question ... most local authority have quick benefit calculators on line with all the relevent questions ....... try it.
