Can someone describe the damage caused by staph infection?

A girl I know was saying she had a staph infection and it sort of "eats" away at the skin of the area, for lack of a better description. She has a small cut, or in grown hair or something, and it got infected with staph, and turned into a bigger hole on her skin. It was irritated for weeks, and she was in a lot of pain, but it did go away. It left scars.

ive had it before i wrestle and it can be serious if not treated other wise it is not to bad but! it can cause other diseases and infections....etc. so you better take care of it
