I love that show! I think this is what you're talking about...it is also the little theme song for the show 'Rob and Big'...I'm not sure if this is it or not...but it's worth a try! ...This song is by Harry Nilsson and it's called "Best Friend (The Courtship of Eddie's Father)"...

It's probably "Best Friend" from the TV show, The Courtship of Eddie's Father, by Harry Nilsson. Its also the theme song on the MTV show Rob & BIG (Figgin' hilarious BTW). Happy downloading!!
