There have been a lot of good commentators in the WWF/WWE, but I think Michael Cole has always been good commentator, he calls the action well and knows what he's talking about and he's been doing it for about 7 years straight. The only other two commentators that are as good as him if not better than him are the The Coach; who unfortunately doesn't commentate anymore and JBL. There's really no telling who the best commentator is of all time, I think it's a toss-up between several people.

Jim Ross is considered the top guy these days. JBL has been very good too. Lawler's a joke and Cole is too. Tazz I can take or leave and Styles too. Mike Tenay and Don West need to stop screaming at the top of their lungs ALL THE TIME when calling TNA stuff.

Gorilla Monsoon was the best commentator and will always be the best. Michael Cole would have to work VERY hard to beat Monsoon.

I am not sure how old or what part of the country you are from but, here in Florida Gordon Solie was the Dean of Wrestling. He was the best announcer there was. He not only worked Florida he did Georgia also. You may have seen him on the old NWA show on TBS. He is no longer living but, the matches he has called are historic. Just my opinion.

J.R. is one of the best, although I think he's getting rusty and making a lot of mistakes lately. My all-time favorite commentator is Joey Styles (however I hate that he's been forced to adopt the WWE style of commentating).

Cole is really good. I met him once at a restaurant and he is a really nice guy to. He's much shorter than I imagined.
